Tin mined in Central Mexico has been traditionally used to manufacture early kitchen and ranch tools. The creative tinsmiths also began to produce decorative lanterns, small toys and frames, all with more elaborate detail and design than the utilitarian products.

Culturas imports tinwork from San Miguel de Allende in the state of Guanajuato, an area surrounded by tin mines and known for the talented tin artisans who reside there. We have enjoyed working with the same tin artisans for twelve years and continue to make traditional products while also developing new designs to appeal to the global market.

The wide variety of tinwork comes in three different finishes: distressed copper or “cobre”, silver tin, and handpainted in bright colors.
